Moore’s law is starting to slip

Moore’s law, named after Intel’s founder Gordon E. Moore, says that that the number of transistors in a chip is doubled every 18 months. Moore’s law has been surprisingly accurate since it was once told back in 1965, but now it seems we’re getting closer to the end. We’ve started to reach the limit for how fast and how many transistors we can use. If you look at the coming 10 to 14 years the frequencies for processors will most likely only double, maybe triple, compared to today’s frequencies. Depending a lot on the heat dissipation for these hot circuits.
