AMD phases out E3 Venice and brings in E4 Venice

0

AMD has as expected stopped making its low end processor Athlon 64 3000+ based on the E3 Venice core. Now it seems though that it has also started to phase out the 3200+ and 3500+ models with E3 Venice core as well. This is to make room for the bew E4 based cores which it has started to take orders on. This was not as expected as with the 3000+ and now speculations have been going around if this is because of the consumers’, according to AMD, unhealthy interest in the Opteron processors for regular desktop systems. The E4 Venus models of Opteron has taken the enthusiast community with storm through its nice overclocking potential. Now AMD wants to put focus on its “real” desktop models instead.
