Playstation 3 launch is still set for Spring

PlayStation 3 is Sony’s highly enticipated sequel to the gaming console PlayStation 2 and now that the competitor Microsoft has already launched its next generation gaming console many are wondering what plans Sony have. Now Sony has announced that everything is going as planned for a launch during the spring of 2006, despite rumours that claim that the console might be late. That Sony is keeping its launch plans is not just important for its place on the gaming console market but also for the success of the next generation DVD format Blu-ray. PS3 is expected to be the first Blu-ray player that will reach out in large numbers and may very well be the decisive factor that will win the format war for Sony.
