Xbox 360 Premium was shipped with an external harddrive at 20GB and not just 20GB is a very small harddrive many users have noticed that far from 20GB of space is available on the harddrive. At IGN.com they’ve taken a closer look at the harddrive after many being outraged when they’ve noticed that the harddrive only has 13GB of free space before they’ve started to add their own material. The 7GB of space that has “disappeared” is apparently dedicated to a number of functions in the console, the most obvious one being the backwards compatibility with Xbox games as the emulator is installed on the harddrive. There is also space that will be used for game updates and similar. Anyway, IGN has solved the riddle of the lost GigaBytes and even if you won’t be able to get in touch with them it might be nice to know where they went. Source: IGN.com
