OLED is short for Organic Light Emitting Diodeand is one of the hottest display technologies on the market, OLED still hasn’t gotten a good foothold on the TV and monitor market, but is used quite frequently by both cell phone and MP3 player manufacturers. At Fraunhofer Institute in Germany they are working on a new and more exciting version of the OLED displays, namely a model which can be made transparent and among other will be able to be used together with (on top) regular LCD panels. The technology will also be able to transform laminated glas to a display which is currently under investigation. Among others they are thinking about integrating the technology into the front window of your car or why not turn a window into a display which can be activated whenever you want.

It’s not hard to imagine what great variety of use there is for this technology if it becomes reality and we are eagerly awaiting more information about the technology.
