The price of DDR2-SDRAM has risen by 18% in February

DDR2-SDRAM is expected to get its real breakthrough this summer when AMD launches its new Socket AM2 platform, the first for Athlon 64 processors that supports DDR2. At the moment the situation on the DDR2 market is far from optimal and during February the price of DDR2 memory has increased with a whopping 18% according to DigiTimes, compared to the end of January. The reason for the higher prices seems to be bad availability which makes us wonder how much memory we will have available at the start of the summer.
