Most people have felt that AMD has been the better company when it comes to the dual-core processors, maybe because it had early plans for this development. Intel changed it tracks rather late though, from high frequencies to multi-core processor architectures and and this has resulted in anything but optimal solutions. That is at least what the acknowledged analyst at Insight 64, Nathan Brookwood, claims. Brookwood has written a report that discuss AMD and Intel’s dual-core architectures where he simply states that AMD has done most things right from day one with the shared memory controller and the HyperTransport bus. While Intel’s solution falls apart because of the shared processor bus that really can’t handle the load from two cores. Intel has with Yonah done the best they can with what they have and overall he is pretty harsh.
