Small preview imageASUS has never been afraid of trying out new things, maybe because of its dominating position on the PC component market. Anyway, it has now developed a video card that is considerably different from the ones we usually see. The design of the card is namely upside-down, the GPU and memory circuits are on the topside against the CPU. The reason is simply that the processor cooler will help with cooling the GPU as this card doesn’t use a fan, but just passive cooling. An interesting design concept that ASUS calls ReverseCool Technolgy. The card is based on the GeForce 6600 circuit and is equipped with 512MB DDR2 memory.

Whether ASUS is thinking about launching more models with this upside-down design remains to be seen. But there is obviously a thought behind it and the question is how well it works in real life.
