Turion X2 should be the logical name for AMD’s mobile processors with dual cores and now it seems that AMD will launch its first mobile dual-core processor early in May. Intel has as you know already released its first mobile processor with dual cores, Intel Core Duo, and AMD has no intention of slipping behind, which means that in May we will see four new models in the Turion X2 series. The four models will be as follows; 1.6GHz/512KBx2, 1.8GHz/512KBx2, 2.0GHz/512KBx2 and one 1.6GHz model with 2x256KB cache. Turion X2 will work at 1.075v, which is very low and should tend for cool and power efficient processors.

Turion X2 may have som problems though, first of all that it just as Athlon 64 X2 can not turn off one of the cores when it is not being used to save power, something Intel’s Yonah processors can. More information about AMD’s mobile dual-core circuits will arrive in May.
