The market for wireless networks is growing very fast, but despite several warnings about the security problems with the technology it is still very common that users don’t secure their network. They’ve literally made wireless networks a neighbour’s best friend and many consumers are unaware of that their wireless network is often being used by people outise the household. At NY Times they’ve published an article covering the phenomena, also known as “piggybacking” in the USA, where it has chosen to speak of victims and sinners. A pretty harmless loan of other’s unprotected networks and internet connections, but except for that the Internet connection could become overloaded there are other problems that might occur if a person use your connection for illegal activities.
