LG Philips has taken a strong hold of the number the one spot on the list of the world’s largest LCD panels, a huge brag factor. It has namely displayed the world’s largest LCD-TV at 100″, completely obliterating the old record at 82″. LG’s 100″ LCD-TV is actually just 3″ smaller than the world’s largest plasma plasma display, a strong indication for the development of the LCD technology. LG’s TV has a resolution at 1920x1080px and a contrast ratio at 3000:1 and can show up to 1.07 billion colors. The LCD panel also has a response time under 5ms, which is very impressive for such a large TV. LG has raised the bar to completely new heights for LCD panel manufacturers. That a 100″ LCD TV would cost tens of thousands of dollars, if even possible to buy, is rather irrelevant here though.
