Sharp announce the world’s smallest WLAN module

Sharp recently announced its, the least to say, minimalistic WLAN module, the smallest of its kind. Sharp DC2J1DZ115 sports the two WLAN standards 802.11b/g and the entire module measures only 10x10x1.6mm. We’re not sure about the power consumption, but we are pretty sure it is one of the most efficient WLAN modules you can find. Considering the increasing presence of WLAN with small portable units such as mobile phones and video game consoles there is clearly a market for small WLAN modules and Sharp expect to start shippings its module at the end of the month.
