Intel launch dual-core Xeon with low power consumption

Intel has now expanded its server and workstation assortment with a new Xeon processor with both dual cores and low power consumption, a very complex equation regularly. Intel’s first LV “low-voltage” model of its dual-core Xeon will according to the manufacturer have two to four times as high performance-per-watt as earlier Xeon processors, a product following Intel’s new trend with new and more efficient systems. The new Xeon processor has a TDP value (Total Dissipated Power, Intel specifically stated Total and not Thermal) at only 31W is suppose to be ideal for small servers, such as 1U units. Intel Dual-core Xeon LV 2.0GHz will cost $423 when buying 1000 units, while a 1.66GHz model will cost $209.
