Turion 64 X2 will most likely be the name of AMD’s first mobile processor with dual cores, but at the moment the processor series goes by the name Taylor. According to information it was planning on launching Turion 64 X2 on May 9, but it has been forced to delay the processors until June, most likely the same time as Socket AM2 will be presented. Turion 64 X2 will namely use the Socket S1 platform, the mobile version of Socket AM2, bringing support for DDR2. Taylor is expected to use 256KB L2 per core (512KB total) and support DDR2-667. Another version of Turion 64 X2, known as Trinidad, will use 512KB L2 cache per core (1MB total). We are eagerly waiting to see AMD’s new mobile processors in action. Source: DailyTech
