Chipset manufacturers will focus on DDR2-800

DDR2-800 is expected to become somewhat of a standard when AMD launch its new Socket AM2 platform that will support this higher clocked version of DDR2 memory. All of the major chipset manufacturers: Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS), VIA Technologies, NVIDIA and ATI Technologies is expected to launch chipsets with support for DDR2-800 during the first half of 2006 according to Commercial Times. We should therefore be able to expect a lot more focus on the DDR2-800 memory very soon. The memory manufacturers are most likely just waiting around the corner to present their new modules.
