NCQ and TCQ explained at HardwareSecrets

NCQ (Native Command Queuing) and TCQ (Tagged Command Queuing) are two technologies used by harddrives to improve performance. By the name you can tell that they are two different handlings of commands, generally it’s when the harddrive has to send commands which without Command Queuing would require the harddrive to spin several around several times but with Command Queuing only would require one spin, something that could result in considerably improvements. At HardwareSecrets they’ve explained the two Command Queiung technologies and also show some benchmarks as an example. Interesting for those who wants to know more about the latest functions in harddrives.
