Fanless video cards from ASUS and AOpen

Fanless video cards has considerable advantage over regular cards as they are completely silent, but there are questions regarding the concept. A passive cooled video card needs some rigorous cooling to keep it cool and stable. At SilentPCReview they’ve taken a closer look at two cards that comes with passive cooling; one X1600 XT card from ASUS and the other is a GeForce 6600 card from AOpen. Both cards use special cooling solutions and the test show that they handle very differently where oen of the cards actually quit after just a few minutes of testing. Passive cooled video cards are truly attractive for those who want a silent system, but it requires a lot from the rest of the system to make it work.
