Alas, there are many who one way or another has managed to kill a computer or at least one of the components and even if it sometimes can be unaviodable there are a lot of things to think about. At PC Stats they’ve published a fun and interesting article that discuss what really kills our computers and what you can do to avoid this. The material for this article has been supplied by their readers and through a reader survey they’ve been able to see what causes that are most common behind a PC’s death. At the top with 26% we find “PSU and power issues”.




In the article they systematically walk you through the various problems, such as faulty installation, water-related problems and similar. They also show how you can protect yourself against these problems which in the end could mean a significant improvement of the lifespans of your component’s.


“Take a deep breath, count to ten. Your computer is just a machine, it did not mean to crash and lose your last two hours of work, and it’s not laughing at you. Throwing it against the wall might be satisfying, but drywall and plastering is expensive and time consuming. Computers make a big hole. Trust me, I know.”
