Microsoft doesn’t really see Nintendo as much of competitor as the archrival Sony. Perhaps as Microsoft and Nintendo target different audiences both when it comes to features and games for the platforms. Microsoft and Sony will end up in a real tight battle though as they both target the exact same crowd. Microsoft doesn’t hold back when it tries to undermine Sony’s coming video game console PlayStation 3 though. The last it has done is to ally itself, or at best back up, Nintendo to fight Sony. Thus not a direct cooperation between the two, but it’s Microsoft’s Peter Morre that has shared a few punches in an interview towards PlayStation 3 high price.
Moore asked who in the right mind would pay $600 for a PS3 console and pointed out that with this money you would be able to buy two consoles, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii to the price of one PlayStation 3. A statement that puts Sony’s prices to shame, but those who consider the features and functions you get with PS3 this doesn’t mean much. One thing is clear though, Microsoft will make everything it can to sell as many consoles as possible before Sony launches PS3.
