Xbox 360‘s external HD DVD-spelare was announced by Microsoft during the E3 event last week and even if we still have a few questions regarding this anticipated accessory we now at least have a a number of pictures to feast our eyes on. The external unit has the same “clean” design as the main console and it seems to be basically a 5.25″ HD DVD player squeezed into an appealing casing. The unit is connected to the console through USB and the big question here is how Microsoft will solve the need for a digital output sporting HDCP. But of course also what the availability and price will be, rumours say $199.
