MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) has earlier stated that it is only interested in hunting for the people who spread its material directly, but despite that it has chosen to sue pages who only offers search services. Whether they’ve failed in finding the main targets or simply changed their mind is something one might wonder. According to one of the sites that has been sued by MPAA, torrentspy.org, it has been using methods to access information that are far from legal.
According to torrentspy MPAA has been in contact with a hacker, which coincidently had been in contact with torrentspy before, and he had been assigned to access information about the site from among other things, mail conversations. MPAA denies the whole thing and claims it is just a way for torrentspy to draw attention away from the actual matter here.
