Intel continues to diplay new models of its coming Core architecture pretty much at any location possible, even though it is still over a month left until the first stationary models will arrive on the market. The last we heard it held a presentation in Santa Clara, California, where it displayed a Core 2 Extreme processor working at 3.5GHz. This was done shortly after that it officially announced that a 3.2GHz Core 2 Extreme processor would be launched before the end of the year. We have earlier seen Intel’s 2.93GHz Core 2 Extreme processor overclocked to about 3.8GHz on air making the fact that Intel has displayed a processor clocked to 3.5Ghz a rather thin presentation, but at the same time show that it has a margin to work with with Conroe in case AMD would launch a competitor to Intel’s Core 2 Extreme.
