We’ve reported about ATI’s integrated chipset RS600 at multiple occasions (1 & 2) and as you should by know it comes with an integrated Radeon X700-based graphics circuit with AVIVO. This tends for some really nice multimedia features together with Intel’s LGA775 processors, which the chipset is primarily intended for. Now RS600 has received an official name, namely Radeon Xpress 1250. Except from the AVIVO functionality ATI has integrated a HDCP-DVI TMDS circuit into the chip which means that the chipset will be fully prepared for the formats of the future. Whether the chipset will sport HDMI 1.1 or the new HDMI 1.3 specification is uncertain, but Windows Vista Premium and its Aeroglass interface is supported by Radeon Xpress 1250. ATI is expected to gear this chipset towards Media Center PCs and we can understand why.
