Linux and compatibility is a duality with few worthy equals. While distributions often are superior to Windows when it comes to older and a bit more outdated hardware it’s a bit worse when it comes to newer such. Not specificly the compatibility as such, but most of all kept performance and functionality. In an attempt to create an overview of the now available hardware and its compatibility with Linux they’ve launched Linux Compatibility Hardware List at Phoronix. The system contains products with descriptions that can be added and then commented and in that way you will get an overview of the current hardware and its functionality with Linux. An initiative we welcome.
