What hides in company computers is not revealed until spring comes, or whatever one might say. Intel has at least done its best to sneak out some new processors in Dell’s portable assortment and now, about a month before Intel will release its new mobile processor Merom (Core 2 Duo), it’s time to air out the current storage of Yonah processors (Core Duo). The regular models of Intel’s Yonah family uses a processor bus at 667MHz, which is paired perfectly with DDR2-667 memory. Now it seems that Intel has some chips to spare that can’t handle these bus speeds, or that Dell is being tight with the money and wants to purchase cheaper RAM. Anyway, two new Yonah-based processors have appeared in Dell’s notebooks.
Dell Inspiron E1705 can be purchased with an Intel Core Solo T1350 processor based on the Yonah architecture, one core, 2MB L2 cache and a 1.83GHz clock frequency. What does not match the other Yonah processors is that the processor bus only works at 533MHz. It has also sneaked out a Yonah model with dual cores and 533MHz bus that can be purchased with the same model. Core Duo T2250 is clocked at 1.73GHz with a 533MHz bus.
