The AGP market is hardly as hot as it once was as PCI Express has more or less taken over by now. But there are still an endless amount of AGP omputers around the world and many of their users are feeling a bit trapped when it comes to graphics card updates. Even if ATI and NVIDIA puts very little focus on the AGP market they have not forgotten about it completely. Now new information states that ATI is working on a new AGP-based graphics card code-named Torpedo 2. The graphics card is no performance monster but should be an interesting upgrade to many. The card uses an RV560 circuit working at 450MHz and is paired with 256MB of GDDR3 memory working at 650MHz.

RV560 is an optimized version of the RV530 circuit used by ATI’s Radeon X1600 series and with dual DVI outputs and AVIVO support Torpedo 2 could become an interesting alternative for all AGP upgraders when it arrives in October.
