Intel has been the biggest company around for a long time and a problem with such a company is that efficiency is usually not the number one priority. Now that it is not as dominant as it once were it has started to look over its organization and will start to make it more efficient. Among other things this means that 1,000 managers will lose their jobs and another 9,000 employees the coming six months. Despite the recently launched Core architecture Intel has reconsidered and realized that also its organization has to be more efficient, something we of course welcome as it may very well come to our, the consumers, advantage, even if it all gets a bit sour considering the 10,000 losing their jobs.
