ATI was acquired by AMD recently and now, if the stockholders and authorities approve, the two will become one. What many are wondering is of course how much will change and perhaps what will be new. Over at DriverHeaven they’ve published an interview with Jon Carvill, PR manager, from ATI about how the acquisition will affect ATI of today, but also some questions about how things might look further up ahead, e.g. some thoughts regarding integrated solutions. Today all current plans will continue as before, e.g. R600 and ATI’s physics solution will continue its development, but in the future it’s hard to tell whether ATI will remain as its own identity.
