Intel Quad-cores gets 1333MHz FSB?

Intel has as you perhaps know decided to speed up the launch of its first Quad-core processors and this is of course something we welcome. After seeing what Intel’s Core architecture is capable of it is no doubt that the same architecture with four cores have a lot of potential. Something that might be a problem though is the architecture’s processor bus which has to be shared by the cores, hardly an optimal solution. Today’s Core processors use a 1066MHz processor bus and Intel has for long said that its Kentsfield and Clowertown processors with four cores would use the same processor bus.

Now it seems that Intel has reached its long term goal of a 1333MHz processor bus earlier than expected and that Intel’s quad-core processors might actually get some breathing room from the rest of the system. According to The Inquirer the sources are divided about the new higher bus but it truly seems that Intel will introduce a 1333MHz bus as soon possible to get maximal performance out of its quad-core architecture.
