SanDisk is one of the leading actors on the flash memory market and offers most kind of memory cards. Now it has launched a new microSD card that despite its minimal format can store up to 2GB. The MicroSD format is used by many mobile phones for extra storage and considering the 3 Megapixel camera sensors and music players that are integrated into our phones nowadays it is no surprise that you need more storage. 2GB with a regular SD card is relatively much but since a microSD card only measures 15mm x 11mm x 1mm and sporting 2GB is mighty impressive. SanDisk is the first to launch a microSD card with this density but we will most likely see more manufacturers follow soon.

SanDisk new microSD card will appear in stores soon and should cost about $100, not bad at all considering the storage capacity. The card is delivered with an SD adaptor that makes it possible to use a microSD card in a regular SD card reader.
