We’ve earlier reported about R580+ and that it will use a new cooler developed by ATI. This more efficient cooler is hoped to bring both temperature and noise down, but apparently the new cooler isn’t good enough for ATI’s next generation graphics circuit, R600. Considering that this massive circuit might consume up to 200W it’s not really that surprising. According to The Inquirer ATI is working on a real super-cooler that will be used by R600 to tame its heat dissipation. We hope that ATI succeeds with this cooler because an overheated graphics card or one that sounds like a jet plane is hardly one to be sold easily, even if the performance would impress.
