DFI seems to be targetting system builders using AMD’s Socket AM2 platform by launching a new motherboard intended for cost efficient computer systems. The chipset used by Infinity RS690-M2/G is ATI RS690 and it is a well equipped such. Except from SATA-II, USB2.0, Firewire and an 8 channel HD sound circuit the motherboard will house an integrated graphics circuit with roots in the ATI Radeon X700 family. This graphics circuit will offer better performance than any other integrated graphics circuit at the moment and considering the first reports about Intel G965 and GMA X3000 it seems ATI is heading towards a bright future on the integrated market.
DFI Infinity RS690-M2/G will use its graphics circuit in the best possible way as the motherboard will be equipped with numerous video outputs; DVI, HDTV output and HDMI. As we’ve earlier also reported this circuit will sport HDCP which tends for some nice Media Center properties. DFI seems to be moving forward qutie rapidly and if PC builders notice this card it may very well be a real winner.
