AMD is right now in the middle of a mighty price war with Intel at the moment, but unfortunately both parties are having problems with getting out enough processors to the retail market. Later this year Intel has more or less promised us that the first Quad-core processor will arrive and to counter this AMD will release its 4×4 platform: four processor cores and four graphics card cores. The launch of this platform has been a bit unclear earleir but according to what TG Daily has found out after questioning AMD employees it seems like this monster platform will arrive at the end of the year.
