Catalyst 6.8 arrives

Catalyst 6.8 has now arrived and it brings numerous nice updates. This time ATI has made some great improvements when it comes to OpenGl-based applications which can result in up to 20% better performance with the Radeon X1000 series. But also DirectX has been better optimized when it comes to memory-heavy applications where single cards can gain over 20% with 3DMark06. This is mainly with the X1800 and X1900 series, but also with cards all the way down into the budget segment when running applications that use a lot of graphics memory. Also, a couple of games have had a few bugs fixed and among these we find Splinter Cell, Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth, Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, etc. The driver can be found in our file archive below.
