ECS has a tendency of releasing cost-efficient motherboards and its ECS NFORCE 570 SLIT-A ver 5.1 is no exception. Intel’s Conroe platform is available as several affordable processor models but the motherboard assortment, compatible with Core 2 Duo, is a bit thin. ECS latest creation is based on NVIDIA’s new nForce 570 SLI Intel Edition chipset and this means support for Intel’s LGA775 processors, Core 2 Duo included with v5.1. Those who are hunting for an affordable Conroe system, ECS new creation looks like a great alternative. The motherboard still has all the necessary features including SLI and at the moment costs 800 SEK in Swedish stores which should mean a price at about $100 in North America.
At OC Workbench they’ve tested the motherboard and with support for Gigabit Ethernet, SLI, DDR2-667 and 8 channel sound you can hardly complain about the value you get. They seem very pleased overall and paired with a Core 2 Duo E6300 or perhaps E4300 you get a very competent budget system.
