The official version of Windows Vista RC1 was made available by Microsoft on September 1 and has thus been available for a few days now. As the first official release candidate it is a truly important version of Microsoft’s coming operating system and over at Winsupersite.com they’ve published a short article about how their experiences of the new version of Windows Vista and as usual it is a deep article with information about RC1′s new functions and what’s been improved since the previous versions of Vista. According to Paul Thurrott at Winsupersite, Vista RC1 is great improvement over Vista Beta 2 in many ways.
They’ve published a second part of the report covering Vista RC1 and it covers the operating system’s software and hardware compatibility which is suppose to be one of the highlights of RC1. That is, as long as you stick with the 32-bit version of operating system. Apparently the 64-bit (x64) version of Vista is still a real nightmare to work with and we’re starting wonder if this is ever going to change.
“You think you’re tough? Then try running Windows Vista in x64 mode: It can make a grown man wail like a little girl whose brother just catapulted Barbie over the fence.”
