MSI has now anounced that it has managed to get full support for ATI’s CrossFire technology with Intel’s new P965 motherboard chipset. It has activated the support on its P965 Platinum motherboard an claims that this is the first time anyone has been able to do this. This may be true but we know that other manufacturers are close behind. Yesterday we received unofficial information that confirmed the CrossFire support with another manufacturer’s P965 motherboard. So we should be able to expect more announcements regarding CrossFire support soon. MSI has not revealed how it has solved the problem but since it has been able to activate CrossFire on the current motherboard the solution is software-based, the question is if it’s Intel’s or ATI’s drivers which have been modified the most.
