A-DATA has three new Solid State Drive series under development and it has now announced the first of the group, the 300 Series. The first series contains the entry models of A-DATA’s new SSD program but that they are entry doesn’t really show from the specifications. They sport read speeds of 150MB/s and write speeds of 100MB/s to match the performance of other budget SSDs of the same generation.
The 300 series relies on the 2.5″ format and under the plastic hood there are NAND Flash memory circuits from Samsung paired with a memory controller from JMicron (JMF602). A-DATA looks to launch two models with 32GB and 64GB storage capacity respectively. Prices are said to be in the $120 and $190 ranges.
We’re also eager to see how A-DATA’s coming 500/700 series will perform since these are supposed to offer even better performance and features and we wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out that either of them use the faster SLC flash technology, even if the price will become considerably higher.
