Not too long ago Mozilla launched Firefox 2.0, a version many users were waiting for. But everyone weren’t happy with the launch and some claimed that there too few updates for such a big launch. The fact that people have now started to look ahead and wait for the next big update of Firefox was expected and on the horizon we can see Firefox 3.0 closing in. This as Mozilla recently released the first official alpha version of FF3. Firefox 3.0 Alpha has been code-named Gran Paradiso and comes with a couple of big news.

Among other the new rendering engine Gecko 1.9, which makes it possible for FF3.0 to pass the infamous Acid 2 test, neither Internet Explorer nor the current versions of Firefox passes. At Ars Technica they’ve taken a closer look at Firefox 3.0 Alpha and what we can expect in May when the browser is finally launched.
