Black Pearl is the real flag ship series at EVGA where the graphics card isn’t just guaranteed to overclock well, but have also been equipped with water cooling from factory. At The Inquirer they’ve published an article about its visit at EVGA’s German office. It’s is namely in Germany where EVGA tests and assembles the high-end cards of the ACS3 and Black Pearl series. EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX Black Pearl is listed at about €700 and when The Inquirer visited the company you realize that not just any card qualifies for this high-end series.
EVGA stress tests all of its GeForce 8800 GTX candidates and only 20% of the cards that are tested actually meet the requirements for its ACS3 series, even fewer qualify for the Black Pearl series. The entire assembly of the Black Pearl cards are done by hand. The cards are equipped with a specially designed water block from the German water cooling component manufacturer Innovatek.
Those who wants to take a closer look at the manufacturing of one of the market’s most expensive graphics cards should head over to The Inquirer where there are more pictures and more information about the cards.
