Futuremark is a software company which more or less every enthusiast recognizes and its 3DMark series of benchmarks has been used by overclockers for many years to measure performance. As you perhaps know we use Futuremark’s 3DMark series when trying to score new world records but also as a part of our upcoming Swedish Performance Championship, much because of its high status among overclockers. More people know quite a lot about Futuremark’s softwares but the company behind the applications is perhaps a bit more elusive. At Elite Bastards they decided to do something about this and simply traveled to Futuremark’s main office in Finland to take a look at the company’s quarters and at the same time interview Futuremark’s Nicklas Renqvist.
They’ve now published their article where they start off with the trip to Futuremark’s office and finish with an extensive interview where we find some very interesting questions. Among others we find out that 3DMark06 is the last benchmark of the 3DMark series which has been developed for Windows XP. The next version of 3DMark will developed for D3D10 and Windows Vista.
