Abit AW9D-MAX overclocking review

Abit AW9D-MAX will according to the specifications and Abit be one of the most capable motherboard on the market for overclockers. Abit will soon get its AW9D series out on the market but we couldn’t wait till then so we managed to convince abit to send us a sample of AW9D-MAX. The motherboard is based on Intel’s 975X chipset and comes with with full support for both Conroe and Kentsfield. We now had a motherboard specifically designed for overclockers, the next step was simple. Put it in the hands of one of the world’s best overclockers and push the boards to its absolute limits. Said and done, Robert “Crotale” Kihlberg has for a few a days been testing and overclocking AW9D-MAX as much as possible and we can now present a first overclocking review of a board we will see more of in the future .

“Today we have the honor as one of the absolute first hardware sites to seriously test Abit’s coming AW9D-MAX motherboard. The sample we’ve received is one out of very few engineering samples and doesn’t come with all the features of the retail package. We’ve been informed that the differences are only cosmetic though, the function remains the same. Waiting for a full review of the board, with all of its accessories, we will start by investigating how this motherboard overclocks.”
