AW9D-MAX and AW9D was released by Universal abit earlier last week and even if abit self has performed internal tests that looked very promising 3DNews.ru has now published a preview of AW9D-MAX where they’ve used an Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 and air cooling to test the board. At 1.213V they managed to come up to a FSB of 340MHZ, which results in a frequency of 3740MHz, I.e. an 800MHz overclock on air. Exactly what the board is capable of combined with some more exotic cooling remains unknown, but this is probably something we will be able to tell you soon.
