abit Fatal1ty Performance I90HD is a part of abit’s gaming series named after the world famous gamer profile Jonathan “Fatal1ty” Wendell. abit has launched quite a lot of boards in the Fatal1ty series, where several have been geared toward gamers and enthusiasts with tons of functions and features. abit’s latest creation is no exception, but is significantly different from its siblings. The motherboard is namely built according to the microATX formfactor. A pretty unusual format for abit, but certainly news for its most enthusiast-geared motherboard series.
That does not mean that Fatal1ty I90HD is misplaced. The market is moving toward smaller and smaller formfactors and abit is confident that microATX boards are certainly an option, even for serious gamers. Fatal1ty I90HD is the first motherboard to show this and it is based on the AMD/ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 chipset, which sports an integrated graphics circuit, with roots in the X700 series, supporting 1080p playback through the integrated HDMI 1.2 output.
The motherboard supports Intel’s quad-core processors and DDR2-800. Those who aren’t happy with the integrated graphics (what gamer is?) can expand the graphics power through a PCIe X16 slots. The price of Fatal1ty I90HD will be 100 USD, which is far from expensive. This could be an interesting alternative for those who want to build a small system but still get both features and performance.
