ABIT has been relatively quiet lately and it’s been while since we saw any new products from the company. Now it seems it is waiting to unload quite a bit and the first product out on the consumer market seems to be its 512MB-version of ATI Radeon X800XL. The new graphic card is a part of ABIT’s enthusiast Fatal1ty-series and has been enriched with a few features not available with other graphic cards from ABIT or the competitors. ABIT has among others developed its very own cooling for the card which is “single-slot” which means you don’t have to sacrifice the nearest PCI-slot. Meanwhile the cooler with its copper-base and 60mm fan is suppose to offer both good cooling and low level of noice. The actual level of noice is suppose to be at the “low” 30db which to be honest isn’t all that low, although other graphic card-coolers can sound quite a lot more. Except that the card uses vGuru that lets the user among others overclock the card and control the fan speed. The card has two BIOS chip (XTurbo) which makes it possible to shift between two basic settings, perhaps high and low frequencies depending on the user’s choice. And at the same time offer better protection as if one BIOS would get corrupt. Source: ABIT
