ABIT IL-80MW may very well be one of the hottest products on the HTPC market as it will be the first motherboard that sports an integrated HDMI output that also support HDCP signals. IL-80MW use Intel’s 945GT chipset and is intended for Intel’s mobile processors, today Yonah and when it arrives; Merom. These very power efficient processors are truly optimal choices for an HTPC, as you want a processor that is very power efficient and thus easy to keep cool. The motherboard sports processor buses up to 667MHz and use the ICH7m-DH southbridge. Other nice features include FireWire, optical sound in/outputs, VGA output, dual SATA-300 ports and dual channel DDR2-533 support.
ABIT IL-80MW will start to be mass produced in June, the only that remains is to get the AACS certification for the HDCP support through the HDMI output. The motherboard is expected to arrive at the end of June and will most likely become an hot option for HTPC followers with its slim mATX format. Price and final supply is yet to be announced.
