ABIT hasn’t been making any excessive noise recently exactly, on the other hand completely understandable considering its recent joined venture with USI. However, now information about one of its coming motherboards has surfaced. K9N SLI is based on the high-end chipset from NVIDIA; MCP55P, for AMD’s new Socket AM2 platform and seems to sport pretty much anything you could ask for from a motherboard of today: SLI, USB 2.0, 8 channel sound, dual gigabit network connections, 6 SATAII ports, etc. It’s also nice to see that ABIT has chosen to stick with its Silent OTES cooling, that with the help of the processor cooler keeps the motherboard cool, completely passive. Not so good if you don’t use any form of active air cooling, but we assume there will be workaround for this.
