Small preview imageSilent OTES is ABIT’s latest innovation for the the mainboard market and as most of you know OTES is the collected name for ABIT’s different cooling solutions. We’ve seen several different OTES-systems on ABIT’s mainboards but the difference with Silent OTES is that all other have used one or more fans. ABIT Silent OTES is the first OTES-cooling which is completely passive and uses the popular “heatpipe”-technology to move heat from the mainboard’s chipset. Instead of using a separate fan it makes use of the processor fan to cool the chipset.

“Silent OTES uses ABIT-designed heatpipe technology to transfer unwanted heat from the North Bridge to the fins of the Collection Module. From there, heat is exhausted outside of the case by air flowing from the CPU fan. The result, a totally silent platform offering excellent cooling efficiency while utilizing the existing CPU fan, ultimately providing enhanced performance, stability and a quieter experience for the end user.”
