Acer have been in the venture of acquiring a smaller computer company for some time now. Last we heard it was Shuttle that was up for grabs, but those rumors seem to have settled now as Acer has announced that it is Gateway that will become a part of the giant Acer corporation. Acer and Gateway have reached an agreement where Acer will purchase all outstanding shares of Gateway at $1.90 USD a piece. All in all Acer will pay $710 million for the American PC builder. Together the two companies will have a revenue of $15 million and move Acer up to third place on the list of the world’s largest PC builders, right behind Dell and HP.
