Back in late August we reported about how Acer was about to acquire US PC builder Gateway. The acquisition would cost Acer $710 million USD and together the two would become one of the largest PC builders in the world, although both of them are already forces to be reckoned with. Acer and Gateway has now announced that the merger has been completed and that all Gateway stock has been converted. Following this, European PC builder Packard-Bell is soon to be merged with these two as Gateway aims to acquire the parent company of PB and get into the European distribution channels.
